President John F Kennedy stated, “We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.” This was the sentiment when choosing this family piece for the traditional practical exam for my AMUSF final year diploma.
Dad’s chair consisted of a sprung back, seat, independent front edge and arms; as well as the distinctive wings, inverted scroll end arms and a concave front seat edge. All hand crafted in 100% natural materials.
It is big and so it had to be bold and is revived in the Ilex Denim and Kerrycroy Kin from Bute Fabrics. An act of remembrance that lives on every day. And my Moon-shot.
